Need to determine the best way to determine if it is a raw image. I'm thinking write a script/program that will look for a partition table. and if no partition table then look for the various file system signature values. I don't think file find's them all and we would have to determine what to parse, or we just simply say file and if dos/mbr or gpt then restore, else forget it...
